EXETER- 2014-2015 Exeter Rotary Club President Leigh Willett presented Exeter Area YMCA Executive Director, Rob McGregor with a check for $10,000 on behalf of the Exeter Rotary Club.
With this generous $10,000 donation to the Exeter Area YMCA, the Rotary Club of Exeter joins the YMCA’s Community Investors League, with the special distinction of being a Founders Circle member.
The Rotary joins 19 other local businesses who have each donated a generous $10,000 or more: Arjay Ace Hardware; Bob Benoit, Consultant to Banks; Chemtan Company, Inc.; Compass Retirement Consulting Group; Donahue, Tucker & Ciandella, PLLC; Exeter Health Resources; ​Foy Insurance​; Gary Blake MotorCars; Good Karma Café; Graham Tire & Auto; ​Hampton Veterinary Hospital​; Law Office of Daniel W. Jones, Esq.; ​Mitchell & Monti International​; Nancy Phillips Associates, Inc.; Northland Forest Products, Inc.; Optima Bank & Trust; Proulx Oil & Propane; and Robinson Smith Wealth Advisors. The Provident Bank and Exeter Area Car Dealers Association have each donated $250,000.
“There are so many areas of the Y’s mission that overlap with Rotary’s ideals. Development of healthy young leaders, strengthening of the community and the importance of healthy living are all things Rotary works to make advances in through its many service projects both locally and internationally,” says Willett. “We are thrilled to be able to make a donation to the Y that will support its good work.”
The Exeter Area YMCA will open to the public on September 11. This phase of the YMCA is 33,000ft2 of health and wellness programs that build a healthy mind, body and spirit for all. The Y will offer a variety of group fitness classes in three studios; cardio and strength equipment in the wellness center; activities, support and free time in the teen Odyssey Center; Kids Club (on-site drop-in child care); family activities; a full-size gymnasium with indoor track; wellness events; and more.
 
The Exeter Rotary Club has been a non-profit member of our Exeter Area Community since 1959.   Rotary is one of the largest international humanitarian service organizations in the world, with more than 1.2 million Rotary members worldwide. Rotary joins leaders from all continents, cultures and occupations. Rotarians exchange ideas, bringing their expertise and diverse perspectives to help solve some the world’s toughest problems, like the eradication of polio. Rotarians take action to bring lasting change in their communities around the world.  The Exeter Rotary Club conducts many community projects and supports local non-profits who’s work benefits those that live and work in Exeter area. The Exeter Rotary Club meets each Monday at the Exeter Inn. We are looking for established professionals wanting to make positive changes in the Exeter community and around the world.
